Approved by the Council of Ministers on January 17, 2024, this groundbreaking initiative opens doors to qualified non-EU foreign nationals seeking employment opportunities in Cyprus.

What is the EU Blue Card?

The EU Blue Card is a prestigious residence permit designed for qualified professionals from non-EU countries, granting them access to work and reside in an EU member state. This card streamlines entry procedures and enhances the legal status of skilled workers, allowing them and their families to enjoy freedom of movement within the EU.

Benefits of the EU Blue Card:

  1. Professional Empowerment: Secure legal employment in your sought-after profession, with salary parity ensured between EU and non-EU workers in equivalent positions.

  2. Family Unity: Enjoy the privilege of relocating with your entire family, as spouses and children up to 18 years old receive accompanying residence permits for immediate reunion.

  3. Streamlined Residency and Citizenship: Experience a simplified process for obtaining residency and eventual citizenship, with accelerated residency eligibility (33 months) and citizenship eligibility (5 years) upon meeting language and pension fund contribution requirements.

  4. Social and Economic Security: Access comprehensive social and economic benefits, including health insurance, unemployment benefits, paid vacation, tuition-free education for children, and university enrollment opportunities for spouses.

  5. Visa-Free Travel: Explore Europe hassle-free with visa-free travel privileges throughout the European Union as a tourist.

Blue Cards are initially issued for a three-year period, with provisions for family reunification.
